Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CAHSEE?

The California High School Exit Exam(CAHSEE) is an exam designed to ensure that students who graduate from public high schools in the state of California can demonstrate grade level competency in reading, writing, and mathematics. All California public school students must pass the CAHSEE in order to receive a high school diploma.

What concepts are tested on the CAHSEE?

The CAHSEE has two parts: English-language arts (ELA) and mathematics. The ELA part addresses state content standards through grade ten. In reading, this includes vocabulary, decoding, comprehension, and analysis of information and literary texts. In writing, this covers writing strategies, applications, and the conventions of English (e.g. grammar, spelling, and punctuation). Click here to view the state English Language-Arts standards. The mathematics part of the CAHSEE addresses state standards in grades six and seven and Algebra I. Click here to view the state math standards.

How does the online preparation course work?

Students logon to the website whenever they are ready to access the preparation materials. Once logged on, they can take a diagnostic exam to identify their specific areas of weakness. From the results of this diagnostic exam, a personal study plan is created for each student. Students can then follow the study plan by watching video lessons and attempting practice problems in each of their problem areas. All practice problems have step-by-step video solutions available. This helps students proceed at their own pace and ensures they will always have help on any problem they are unable to solve on their own.

How much does it cost?
Individual student subscriptions cost $99 and provide site access for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Where is the English Language-Arts?
Our team is finalizing the English Language-Arts portion of the preparation materials. Once complete, this material will be available for all current subscribers at no additional charge.

How does the guarantee work?
Simply put, we guarantee that any student who follows our study plan will pass the CAHSEE. If the student does not pass the exit exam after completing all of the preparation material, we will issue a full and prompt refund of 100% of the course fee.
